CAROL “PIKY” RIVERA

Carol “Piky” Rivera is founder and co-host of Chingonas Rising. At three years old, she immigrated to El Norte on the back of her mother that risked it all at the chance of them having a new beginning. Piky has been working in research and education for the past 10 years. She received her B.A. in Psychology from UC Berkeley (Go Bears!). Her unapologetic views and interest in helping others have grown from her childhood, adolescence influences and experiences. With the unconditional support of others, she was able to mold her hardships into lessons . As a woman of color, single teen parent and non-traditional student she is an advocate and cheerleader for all chingonxs. Piky is the biggest introvert and hates small talk; she will do anything to keep her from having to socialize. Catch her while you can! In her free time, Carol enjoys museums, hanging out with her dog, Korra, stand up comedy, and gatherings with friends and family.
